Saving Your Work

Producer offers three save commands: Save, Save As, and Save Copy. Each behaves differently with the active file.

Save

File → Save or Ctrl+S writes changes to the current show file. If the show has never been saved, Producer prompts for a location and filename. Save often — timeline edits, display configurations, and property changes live only in memory until saved.

Save As

File → Save As... or Ctrl+Shift+S writes the show to a new file. The new file becomes the active file — later saves update it, not the original. Use this to branch a known-good version before experimental changes.

Save Copy

File → Save Copy... writes a duplicate to a location you choose, but the active file does not change. Later saves still update the original. Use this for an archival snapshot while you keep working. Save Copy has no keyboard shortcut.
