The Devices Window

The Devices window lists the output devices in the show — displays, virtual displays, audio devices, and capture sources. The Nodes window covers the machines. This window covers the devices configured in the show. Open it from Window > Devices or with Ctrl+Alt+D.

Device List

Name (with a type icon) and Node show by default. The column-chooser button adds optional columns — Tier, Resolution, Output Type, Color Space, Channels, Sample Rate, Audio Device, Latency, and Sources — with Reset Columns to restore the defaults. Click a header to sort.

In the Node column, virtual displays show (Virtual) and capture sources show (Capture) in place of a node name. A warning icon marks a device with a problem, such as an offline node.

Type icons mark each device: a monitor (display), a shimmering monitor (virtual display), a speaker (audio), or a cast icon (capture). Disabled devices show an "off" variant.

Filtering and Grouping

The filter dropdown narrows the list to All, Display, Virtual, Capture, or Audio, and a tier filter limits it to chosen stage tiers.

Each display shows a colored left border matching its display color. Sort by Node to group a node's devices under a connecting bracket.

Selecting and Editing

Click to select (Shift+Click for a range, Ctrl+Click to toggle). Selecting a device loads it in the Properties panel and highlights it on the Stage. Double-click opens its properties. With no devices, the list shows No Devices.

Context Menu

Right-click a device or the background:

  • Enable / Disable — turn the selected displays or audio devices on or off.
  • Edit Display Warp / Edit Display Mask — open the warp or mask editor for a selected display.
  • Add Virtual Display, Add Display, Add 3D Projector, Add Audio Device, Add Capture Device — create a device.

Cut, copy, paste, and delete use the standard edit shortcuts (Ctrl+X / Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V / Delete).

Adding Devices

Create devices from the context menu here, from the Stage menu, or from a node's right-click menu in the Nodes window (which assigns the device to that node). See Adding Displays.

Drag and Drop

Drag a virtual display or capture source onto a timeline, the Stage, or the Cues window to create a cue that uses it.
