The Assets Window

The Assets window is the show's media library. It connects to the Asset Manager, which stores, optimizes, and distributes media to the Runners. From here you import media, organize it in folders, watch optimization progress, and drag assets onto the Stage or a timeline to create cues. For asset concepts — types, formats, optimization, and versions — see Assets / Asset Manager.

Connection State

The window shows the library when an Asset Manager is connected. It shows No Asset Manager when none is set, or Offline when one is set but unreachable — assign one from the Nodes window (right-click a node, Use Asset Manager). A Demo Mode banner appears when the connected Asset Manager is unlicensed.

Columns

Assets appear in a tree table. Name (with a type icon) and Image (thumbnail) show by default, with Dimensions, Duration, and Date. The column-chooser button adds optional columns — Type, FPS, Codec, Color Space, Channels, and Original Path — and Reset Columns restores the defaults. Drag headers to reorder.

Searching and Filtering

The search icon opens the filter row: a name search, a Kind dropdown (All, Video, Image, Audio, Model, Other, Failed, Used, Unused), and checkboxes for New, Selected Cues, and Preparing.

Status Indicators

Each asset shows its state in the optimization pipeline: Uploading (with a progress bar), Pending (waiting for the optimizer), Optimizing, Ok, or Fail (alert icon, red text). A New star marks an asset this Producer has not shown before. The asset states are documented in Asset Properties.

While transfers or optimization run, the top bar shows an activity summary. Click it to open the job queue with per-job progress.

Adding and Organizing

Drag files from the file system into the window, or use the right-click New submenu: New Folder, Add Media File..., Add Image Sequence..., New Rectangle / New Ellipse / New Text, New Art-Net Fixture, Create Dynamic Asset, and Create Version. Drag rows to reorder them or move them between folders. The import workflows are covered in Assets / Asset Manager.

Other Context-Menu Actions

  • Select Cues Using Asset — select every cue that uses the asset.
  • Asset Manager Settings — open the Asset Manager's optimization settings.
  • Transfer Assets — Export, Export All, Import..., and Download to Runners... (pre-cache the selected assets on the Runners).
  • Open Web UI — open the Asset Manager's web interface in a browser.
  • Delete — remove the selected assets.

Drag and Drop

Drag an asset to the Stage, a timeline, or the Cues window to create a cue (on the Stage, hold Ctrl to stack on separate layers). Double-click an asset to open its properties.
